Samuel Associates is pleased to add former Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Party Leader and senior business executive, Jamie Baillie, to its professional Government Relations team. Jamie will be providing business development strategy, political guidance and marketing-to-government advice to clients working in various industries requiring federal government support.

Samuel Associates is committed to bringing Atlantic Canada's voice to Ottawa with an ambitious expansion plan. The plan includes engaging our senior associates living and working in major East-Coast cities such as Halifax and Fredericton to represent commercial businesses, maritime interests and defence companies.

Jamie's deep experience inside and out of politics and community involvement throughout Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada will help clients from the region seek federal government opportunities or lobby for specific issues.

Jamie brings first-hand political and industry leadership to our firm. His executive experience in leading political organizations and successfully managing one of Eastern Canada's largest financial institutions will be a tremendous asset. Having Jamie in Halifax representing the firm is an important consideration given the current travel and safety restrictions due to the pandemic - confirmed Goran Samuel Pesic, President and CEO.

Jamie's prominent political and business acumen are equally matched with his academic and professional development background. He received his Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and is a designated Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) in the Province of Nova Scotia. Jamie also completed the Canadian Securities Course and has certificates from the Osgoode Hall Law School at the University of Toronto and the University of Chicago. In addition to this, he completed a senior executive leadership program at Harvard Business School.

Jamie will be joined in Atlantic Canada by Senior Associate Brian Macdonald, from Fredericton, New Brunswick, who will work closely with Jamie to support the firms' business activities and represent clients in the region.
