The Samuel Associates Selection Committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffrey Collins of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, is an Honourary Fellowship recipient.

The firm would like to congratulate Dr. Collins on his recent publication through the Macdonald–Laurier Institute, titled: Hard Choices: Canada must be consistent when dealing with China.

The article is co-written with Andrew Pickford, who works between North America and Australia in strategy, economic analysis, and energy with various private and public organizations. The publication outlines a pathway as to why Canada needs a cohesive and consistent strategy towards modern China.

“We welcome Dr. Collins to our esteemed group of Honourary Fellows. I look forward to working with him on projects dealing with strategic policy issues facing Canada today, such as our relationship and posture with China,”

confirms Colonel (Ret'd), Dr. J. Paul de B. Taillon, Senior Academic Advisor, Samuel Associates.

Dr. Collins is a noted expert on Canadian defence procurement and defence policy. He maintains an active research presence with Canada's leading centres in foreign and defence policy, including with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute as an associate and, separately, as a fellow with Dalhousie University's Centre for the Study of Security and Development, the University of Manitoba's Centre for Defence and Security Studies, and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute.

His education credentials include a Ph.D. in Political Science from Carleton University, a MA in International Relations from the University of Birmingham, a law degree from the University of Aberdeen, and a BA and Certificate in Public Administration from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He is an Adjunct Professor in Global Affairs at the University of Prince Edward Island, where he teaches graduate courses in international relations and security.

"I am pleased to award Dr. Collins with this distinct honour that recognizes his accomplishments to advance Canada's international trade and national security efforts through his academic achievements. Dr. Collins’ views and analysis will be extremely important to some of our projects,"

said Goran Samuel Pesic, President and CEO, Samuel Associates.
